U13 INTER COUNTIES TRACK & FIELD, KINGSMEADOW, 26TH JULY 2009- Trevor Raggett will be announcing the Surrey Boy's team on 3rd July. Clubs are requested to ensure that the statisticians are updated with the latest performances so that the current form is known for all potential team members.
The Surrey Girl's team will be chosen after the Lily B match on 4th July 2009, from the Surrey rankings list. Could all Coaches and Team Managers, especially for athletes who compete with non-Surrey clubs, ensure that their athletes PBs are all submitted as soon as possible before this date. SEAA U15/U20 INTER COUNTIES TRACK & FIELD, WATFORD, 30TH AUGUST 2009- Geoff Platt has announced (20/06/2009) his selections for the U15 Girls. Trevor Raggett will announce the U15 Boys team on 10th August. A bus has been arranged which will depart from Kingsmeadow at 8.30am.
EUROPEAN TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS, LEIRA, PORTUGAL, 20/21 JUNE 2009 - Mixed fortunes for the Surrey athletes selected for the GB & NI team. Samson Oni (Belgrave H) cleared 2.24m in the High Jump for 9th place. Abdul Buhari (Newham & Essex Beagles) threw 58.79m in the Discus for 7th place. Joice Maduaka (WG&EL) anchored the Women's 4x100m relay team which finished 2nd in 43.44. Harry Aikines-Aryeety (Sutton & District) anchored the Men's 4x100m relay team where the third leg runner pulled up with an injury but they had the presence of mind to finish in 10th place thereby gaining valuable points for the team.

SURREY 10 MILE ROAD RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIPS & 2009 ROAD LEAGUE - The results of the Surrey 10 Miles held at Dorking on 31st May 2009 are available. The positions after three events in the Surrey Road League are also available. (Updated 12/06/2009).
JAMES DASAOLU EQUALS SURREY SENIOR 100M RECORD - Running in the Athletica Genève EAP Meeting held on 6th June 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland, James Dasaolu (Croydon H) ran 100m in 10.09/+0.9 to equal the record set by Jason Livingston in 1992. In winning the race he beat Harry Aikines-Aryeety (Sutton & Dist) who was timed at 10.17, Craig Pickering and Mark Lewis-Francis. County records.
TWO NEW COUNTY RECORDS - At the St Mary's Classic Meeting held at St Mary's, Twickenham on 3rd June 2009 two Surrey records dating back to the 1970s were beaten. Rikkie Letch (WSEH) ran 1:51.06 to improve the previous Under 17 Men 800m record of 1:53.3 set on 9th June 1973 at Crystal Palace by Wayne Tarquini (HHH). Emelia Gorecka (AFD) ran 9:24.79 to improve the previous Under 17 Women 3000m record of 9:26.4 set on 7th December 1977 at West London by Jo White (Mitcham). Emelia has run 9:22.80 for 3000m but it was in a mixed race which, therefore, can not be considered for record purposes. County records.
TRACK & FIELD DATABASE - Results of the individual events held at the Women's championhips 1980-1986 have been added and profiles updated. This has added over 5500 performance records to the database making a current total of 44,982 records. This information was extracted from the results produced at the time which do not include first names. Where known by the webmaster these have been included. The webmaster would be pleased to receive amendments. Any athletes without a profile can be added if the webmaster is supplied with the athlete's name, date of birth, and whether they have a Surrey birth qualification. The next task will be to add the results from the Mens Championships for 1980 - 1984 . This will mean that 30 years results (1980 - 2009) will be available. The number of athletes with a profile has risen to 3330.
CAU INTER COUNTIES TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS 24TH/25TH MAY 2009 - Surrey Men now confirmed as winners by 1 point ahead of Essex. With the Women coming 2nd Surrey were first overall. RESULTS (revised 30/05).
EUROPEAN VETS NON STADIA CHAMPIONSHIPS, AARHUS, DENMARK, 29/31 MAY 2009 - Estle Viljoen (Hercules Wimbledon AC) won the W35 10km and 20km road walking events with times of 55:43 and 1:59:12 respectively. Surrey runners were also in the medals in the Half Marathon Championship with Ros Tabor (Dulwich Runners) placing second W55 with 98:08 and Michael Mann (Dulwich Runners) placing third M60 in 89:08. This means that Pam Ball is compiling U13-U20 Females, Keith Burchell is compiling U13-U20 Males and Pete Mulholland is compiling Seniors (Males & Female). Please note that in the U13-U20 lists athletes only appear within their own age group. Under 17 Women 1500m added (11 May). Under 17 Women High Jump added (12 May). Remaining series for field events included (12 May). Under 13 Girls High Jump corrected (14 May). Photographs. The winning U20 Men Triple Jump performance of 15.50m by Babatunde Amosu (Croydon) was, in addition to being a CBP, a new COUNTY RECORD.

JUNE 13TH, KINGSMEADOW STADIUM - To remind athletes that entries to this Championship can only be done through their District Team. No entries are taken from individuals. There are no entries permitted on the day.
If an athlete has not been selected for any reason before the closing date, they or their Coach are to contact their school and/ or District Team manager (Details of contacts will be added in the early weeks of the new term). The closing date for entries, submitted by Team Managers is Sunday May 24th. A Timetable will be added when clarified.
